  GMN - High Frequency Machining Spindles  
 
   

With an experience of more than 30 years in the field of machining spindles, GMN can today supply high speed spindles for machining centers. The spindles are suitable for both ferrous and non-ferrous machining. Spindles can be offered with both automatic tool change as well as manual tool change.

   
 
   

Spindles with automatic tool change

Power and torque:
Shaft power upto 100kW and torque upto 400 Nm are possible for using large tools. Variety of spindles are available for small power resp. torques

Bearings:
Most of the spindles produced by GMN use hybrid bearings with ceramic balls. Speeds upto 60000 rpm are available.

Tool interface:
Standard spindles are supplied with HSK tool interface in form A, C, E or F as per customer's requirement. Special tool interface is also possible on demand. ISO tool interface is also available.

Acceleration and deceleration:
Acceleration and deceleration time of less than 1 second is possible depending on the bearing size, motor power and speed.

Clamping system:
Most of the spindles with automatic tool change are supplied with OTT clamping systems. With high hydraulic pressures, the clamping / unclamping time is possible with 0.2 seconds and lesser.

Position sensors:
Spindles with automatic tool change are provided with sensors for monitoring tool change. Sensors are provided for tool clamped, tool unclamped and clamped without tool.

Encoders:
Spindles with automatic tool change are equipped with encoder for closed loop control.

Sealing:
Provision for pressurized air is provided to prevent ingress of contamination into the bearing system. GMN has also patented a “Fluid Ring” seal which can be incorporated into most of the spindle designs and can operate in heavy external coolants and dust conditions. There is NO speed limit and requires NO air.

Taper cleaning and Coolant thru shaft options are available. Coolant thru spindle housing is also possible where the size of the spindle permits.

Bearing temperature monitoring is provided. With experience, this reading can be effectively used for controlling axial shaft growth .

With the above features, high accuracy machining with short cycle times are possible.

Spindles with manual tool change

Power and torque:
Shaft power upto 45kW and torque upto 3250 Nm are possible for using large tools. Variety of spindles are available for small power resp. torques

Bearings:
Most of the spindles produced by GMN use hybrid bearings with ceramic balls. Speeds upto 51000 rpm are available.

Tool interface:
Standard spindles are supplied with HSK tool interface in form C.

Lubrication:
Spindles can be supplied with grease or oil-air lubrication.

Sealing:

The grease lubricated spindles are provided with air seal to prevent ingress of contamination.
